HUANCA URCO: A MARVEL OF NATURE IN CHACHAPOYAS
Recently, comes from Lima, after attending a national event on topics related to the Social Management. On the second floor of the renovated airport Jorge Chavez, a few metres to go to pay our rates aeropuertarias, an immense gigantografía disproportionately lit up and flashing say, shows the Colca Canyon, one of the most impressive places of Arequipa and perhaps South of the country, except of course Macchu Picchu. I stopped in front of me and that photo giant said with regional pride, that if this is compared with Huancas Urco, there is not much difference, because the characteristics that are more similar.
Huancas Urco, is a distant canyon of 5 minutes from the town of Huancas, which is far from Chachapoyas, just 20 minutes. To reach the place in the plains of the height not seen nor felt anything. Such a single, strong winds, which seem to break the laws of gravity, makes us sure to land, so quietly we get closer and see, as small pygmies, the huge Canyon, which has a direct drop of over two thousand meters of depth. We must ignore the whistling wind that drills by our ears, to sing the sweet melody of the waters of the mythical Sonche, a small, but river flow, that the very bottom, with their snoring and knocks on the rocks, said he This is to supplement natural symphony, where the conductor is oneself, because each viewer, to be immutable with the complicity of silence, to thank God for his Supreme creative magic. Does the Colca? Neither crazy. I'm staying with Huancas Urco.
In its territorial size, is enjoyed, as an added value of varied orchids and stationary plants, medicinal plants, land of many colors. Roads that allow narrow down the canyon toward the river. On the other side, that immense plateaus in the rainy season, as if they mourn, vomit water and become piles of seven waterfalls, which completes the framework of this spectacular landscape, rather than natural, it's divine. As wanting to compensate for this historic land that is mine, before many state indifference, to fulfil their promises.

THE WONDERS OF AMAZON

Recently, the dean of the Peruvian press "El Comercio", invited its thousands of readers to choose the seven wonders of Lima. I think that last foot patriotic, the party that Machu Picchu is known worldwide as the fourth wonder of humanity, because Alan Garcia continues arrepintiendo their meas blame, that the mayor of Chachapoyas, we are still doing the cholitos and don'ts nothing for our future is there? worth, make strategic approaches to the eventualities and very significant actions that will take place next year in Peru, it is worth making an effort to identify the amazonenses also our wonders .
The geographical spread of Amazonas, close to forty thousand square kilometers, allows hide a series of secrets, which are gradually uncovered and each of them are subjects of global attraction, which allows redirect plans and programmes of tourism and choose as part fate of this part of the country.. Last year, a discovery - more consistent is launching media - as Gogta, astonished the world not only for its beauty, but because this enormous neck of water that exceeds 700 meters high is the third highest in the land, then Yumbilla appeared in Cuispes, long before Kuelap, the Valley of the Dinosaurs, Rentema naturally city of Chachapoyas, among others.

Then detail:
A. - FORTRESS OF KUÉLAP, an archaeological gem to be excused tourism in Peru, where Machu Picchu is forbidden to enter and Chileans continue putting his country's flag near the monument world.
B. - CITY OF THE DEAD, where every visitor and with a long view, can enjoy and removed the brains to know as they arrived at the top of the hills the sarcophagi. Burials surprising as the mummies of Egypt or similar images of Easter Island, or Rapa Nui in Chile.
C. - THE VALLEY OF THE DINOSAURS, where remains of dinosaurs that inhabited the young American continent and hence areas Rentema and Quebrada Seca High, proving that the land was populated by amazonenses herbivorous dinosaurs called Sauropodos Titanosaurido.
D. - PONGO OF MANSERICHE .- Of all the pongos that exist in Peru, perhaps the best known is the Manseriche of horses. This is the final hurdle facing the river Marañon in trying to reach the Amazon plain. Located in the province of Condorcanqui
E. - CATARATA OF GOGTA .- More than 700 metres high. The third highest in the world and is located in the province Bongará.
F. - HUAYLLA - BETHLEHEM .- Inmenso valley Interandean born in the territories of Conila - Colcamar - Inguilpata and dies in the Maranon River. It is located in the province of Luya.
G. - HIGH IMAZA .- Area high Andean province of Chachapoyas, where the first Indian churches in our region and where there is the tree of Quinine, which is our national symbol.
H. - THE RIVER MARAÑON .- This river Ciro Alegria inspired to write his famous book "Golden Snake" can be appreciated from another marvel of Amazonas, as is the bridge Corral Quemado.
I. - THE TAIL OF COLIBRI ESPATULA .- A small bird, which has the peculiarity in its tail, which is very similar to the spoonbills and living in the lush rainforests Bongará. It is part of the Natural Heritage of Amazonas and unique.
J. - JALCA BIG .- Held described as the Archeological Capital of Amazonas, was the first area where founded Chachapoyas year 1538.
K. - HUAMANPATA .- artificial lagoon which is located in the upper area of Izcuchaca belonging to Rodriguez Mendoza. Their sunrise and sun drops, are worthy of being covered, savoring a dish of rainbow trout meat pink.
L. - CHACHAPOYAS .- One of the first cities founded in Peru. For its architecture and conservation of their houses and city, is one of the most beautiful cities in the northeastern Peru.
M. - CANNON OF THE UTCUBAMBA .- born to atura of Leymebamba and ends up in Naranjitos Utcubamba. Narrow valley at 1400 meters high with which to assess the evolution of nature, appreciate immense mountains and always accompanied by the sound hoarse and sensual Utcubamba River.
No - LAGOON POMACOCHAS .- Huge, monumental. Sometimes blue, others black, but is equally beautiful. It is located in the district of Pomacochas in Bongará.
Ñ .- THE CAVE OF KIOCTA .- Kiocta natural cavern where there was Estalactitas and Estalagmitas is considered by the old cemetery as a place where you can appreciate further cave paintings where you can appreciate 7 lounges inside the cave. It is located 10 kms. At the north west of the city Lámud. It is one of the largest in the world.

And we can keep mentioning more, because Amazon, in each province and district has natural wonders, such as cataracts, archaeological sites, landscapes that deepen our regional pride and well "exploited" can be a mine endless resources and to attract investment and improve the quality of life of our people.
If Bernard Weber, was the promoter in the world to elect the new wonders of the world, I believe that Amazon, the same should be done through the Regional Government of CETUR peers and the organizations of regional tourism to motivate all amazonenses la identificación de sus maravillas y mediante un plan estratégico nacional, se puede despertar la atención del mundo, por medio de sus gobernantes que el 2008 arribarán a Lima para participar en el Foro de Cooperación Asia Pacífico que aglutina a las 21 economías más grandes y dynamic in the world. The leaders of these economies (president or heads of government) and hundreds of delegates, executives, entrepreneurs and investors arriving in our country for this great event.
I do not think that is unreasonable, using intelligence and increasingly influential presence of the media, such as television and the Internet to sell our products, which previously elected for a mechanism like the Web site, we can market the AMAZON product to the world, for the sake of our regional economy, ahhhhhhhh, without neglecting that in a short time, the faithful city Chachapoyas, perform its first 500 YEARS OF FOUNDATION.
The idea table and is served, now have the floor.
GRENADA: HISTORY AND LEGEND
The High Imaza, is one of the least explored areas, and it explains that every look, every step, every memory or testimony is a matter of regional pride and admiration. Within those 9500 square kilometres in length, called High Imaza, lies the district of Grenada, which despite being on the three thousand meters high, is a jewel in this area, you have to polish slowly towards his survival in a world of global giants demands.
BETWEEN INFIELES AND TRADITIONS
Upon arrival of the first religious congregations to Chachapoyas in the second stage of the sixteenth century, they are distributed by various areas of the kingdom of sachapuyos, so that mercedarios occupy the territory more complex pilgrimage and conversion, or the High Imaza Formerly called Atompampa, Naranjos, Yambajalca or Yambashashca, where they lived hundreds of infidels who they say are part of the "excluded" from the kingdom and chacha living in a wandering in constant conflict.
High Imaza, religious monuments which is the most privileged or retained in such resources, which very well be reclaimed for history, hundreds of religious figures invaluable and are by their age (over four hundred years) are part of our regional heritage.
The district of Grenada (name given by a Spanish priest) in a small territory divided its capital into two areas of interest: Yambajalca and Diosán. In both places there are two churches Indians very battered by the passage of time and neglect ecclesiastical it stands. Enter these temples, is to return to the past, imagine the laborious hands of the craftsmen who built every religious image in wood and plaster. It is imagined as they have built beautiful altars or raídos by indifference. It felt the presence of the faith of a people that today has gradually lost due to the lack of spiritual guide.
Despite its poor state of conservation, we have to San Antonio of Tolentino, Everlasting Father, Purísima Concepción, Santo Toribio de Mogrovejo, San Juan Bautista MGRS Grenada, which starts on June 24 to walk through the village on a truck made of wood.
NATURE RESERVE OF THE TREE QUINA
At school, when one studies the history of Peru, never missing a class on our nationals. The shield has a special place the tree of Quina miraculous plant for more than 180 years that its curative qualities, saved the lives of thousands of people throughout the world, including those in the high society of Europe. Each school has as its desire to know directly what we teach in class, especially when it comes to major events that took place in Peru. My desire to know the miraculous tree, which prompted the creative compatriots wish to place on our national coat, became a reality in my trip to High Imaza, where free, unharmed grow thousands of trees in the Quina.
This tree is of medium height, their trunks are brown chestnut, which unfortunately is used for firewood and fence. SE uses the bark and the trunk. When the Spaniards arrived in Peru, among those who settled on land warm many were affected by this disease. Indeed, many indigenous people who descended from the mountains to the coast also fell victims of this evil. History tells us that all this was the same until the wife of the viceroy of Peru, Conde de Chinchon, became seriously ill with malaria. I would have died had it not been for the intervention of a priest to whom a native revealed the secret to cure it. The secret was the powder from the bark of the cinchona tree, which contains the famous quinine. The countess, Ana Ossorio, saved her life and introduced in Europe in 1632, as a cure for malaria, the use of quinine in his honor that he was also called chinchona. Currently, its presence is recorded in only seven departments of Peru, which includes Amazon and specifically the High Imaza and Grenada in particular.
GRENADA AND ITS FUTURE
This town has the leadership authority as a young Enoch Pilco Valley that their 23 years is the second mayor of minor age in the country. Su empeño y coraje para afrontar las cosas ha permitido que Granada forme parte en el mapa vial de Amazonas, por contar con una carretera que llega hasta su plaza principal. Among its short-term projects is the electrification of their villages and water and sewer projects, effective action to improve the quality of life of the population and hence provide services for tourists, which will shortly enter the area, since it is expected that the road Molinopampa - Jumbilla will culminate in a stretch of eight kilometres missing.
Grenada, in addition to religious relics, natural area for the growth of the Quina has tourism resources as the Valley of the "Seven gaps," chambor or mashuar (whose fruits are used to make jam or sweet delicious), elder , among others. Grenada with its 181.41 km ², has great potential, it is necessary to rediscover, but elsewhere both regional and national government, and guide its development resources that account, historical and religious motivation should be considered as the HISTORICAL AND RESERVE RELIGIOUS OF AMAZON.

LAMUD: CAPITAL OF FAITH

It sounds a hollow phrase. It sounds something cursi, but Lámud is a town, which is also the political headquarters of the province of Luya undoubtedly is the capital of the faith in the Amazon. It is a small place, so much so that within minutes he goes through the city center and a climbing accident natural currency to the whole village.
It is located one hour of Chachapoyas through a road quite conserved and maintained by the local authorities twice a year. Amid a plateau between odors to cane and broom. Among colors blue and green and white smoke houses, extends Lámud, who lives in September overcrowding population with the massive influx of hundreds of luyanos, chachapoyanos, Lima, Peruvian and "foreigners" to enjoy the feast and devotion unmatched in honor of the Lord of Gualamita, who chairs the high altar in the Church array of this province.
This year, the party was an additional component, in addition to the mass processions, Hatun Luya, the race between communities chasquis, from fights roosters, the social and popular festivals with known orchestras and soundtracks of the Amazon and other parts of Peru, the inauguration of a colossal figure of Christ the Redeemer cement, with his arms extended as a token of love, protection and assistance.
When one arrives at the square Lámud before September, pleasant impression caused the church matrix both internal and external is very nice. Today you see visually impacting on the top of the hill, redeeming this image that measures about twelve meters tall and weighing about five tons. Moreover, when at dawn rays dim yellow and orange pulling for the sun, reflect this figure. There will be erected Christ in Rio de Janeiro, but without doubt it is a brilliant idea of its promoters, to create this additional attraction to many natural beauties and archaeological offers this province.
The day the central festivities in homage to the "Lord of Gualamita", the Committee Fiestas Patronales, chaired by Napoleon Castaneda, delivered to the community this beauty and I think that since that date, remained in the hearts of Catholics, human gesture of reverence for a people have the strength and the Son of God. This fact made me agree to Eng. Pedro Rojas (1987), the fugitive former chairman of the CORDEAMAZONAS, when he wanted to build the image of the "Virgin Asunta" in the Puma Urco, but blindness and visionary policy of "comrades apristas" what changed in two and a half months management and until today this idea, it was just that: Idea.

Recently I visited Lámud and was able to confirm this collective achievement and I feel obliged to promote this action so that luyanos, lamutinos the world, know that in their land, there are additional reason to return in time for Mother Earth. I caused a big impression this monumental Christ, which became the first in the Amazon and of course I llené the spirit of Christian devotion to see again Gualamita, a saint who believe that everyone, bear in our hearts.

CONILA - COHECHAN: PEOPLES MILENARIOS OF LUYA
Conila - Cohechán are to ninety minutes and half an hour of Chachapoyas Luya. Between the two towns people more than 700 families. It is located along a very narrow and steep mountain at an altitude of 2800 meters above sea level and has an area of 256.16 km2. Its soils are suitable for production of potato product that goes out to other parts of Peru between 1500 to 2500 tons per week, which makes it the first producer of this tuber in the Amazon. On a smaller scale, chocho, beans, livestock and other products panllevar
DESCRIPTION OF THE TOWN
Cohechán, develops edge of a hill and their houses are built mostly near the edge of the road. Way which has been extending towards Huaylla Bethlehem, inter-valley which forms part of the jurisdiction of Conila. As in any town, in the plaza located the main buildings of the municipality, school, church which dates from the last decade of the nineteenth century and today could be remodeled as a whole, with the support of Parish and Luya money from efforts by Rome Mayor Genaro Singer.
It's my weakness, visiting churches on the inside, to see their pictures, their construction and placed in its historical context. Inside is very similar to all churches of Chachapoyas and Luya: Flat ground, benches heavy but malogradas, wide and very high walls, two towers and its belfry, the fund an altar easy, but which are very valuable relics, as the Lord of Gualamita of Cohechán for example, the beauty of the finished images Heart of Jesus and Maria Auxiliadora, which are pieces of a lot of historical richness, which urges velarlo for their protection.

POPULATION
Nearly 90% of the population is engaged in the production of potatoes, which gives them great economic satisfactions, as prices in the market to reach 80 suns the quintal. Other but on a smaller scale but improved livestock and produce bread, which is very pleasant, even more so when we got out just as freshly baked. The few bakeries, use their implements rustic artisan's all there and the aroma of bread in the morning flooding throughout Cohechán. Other very early in their orchards together pumpkin or Chiclayo to sell its sweets and in the midst of bread as a visitor passes through the square of the town. They have all basic services but limited, a fact that makes for a modest regional pole of development.

Do DESCENDIENTES CHACHAPOYAS, QUECHUAS Or AYMARAS?
The French researcher Adolf Bandelier in his article "The Indians and the ruins Aboriginal near Chachapoyas in the north of Peru" (published in this blog in July this year), implying the presence of groups of people who as mitimaes both were brought from Bolivia to Chachapoyas as Luya, in order to destabilize the power of the Sachapuyos. This unique contribution to the history of the peoples of the Amazon, demonstrated Cohechán, where I could enjoy the dialect they preserved, although few people and older.
The dialect that is heard, is a Quechua to our very, very different from the original in Cuzco, closest to the Aymara, because some words like "arie" are very different from the usual in the official language of the Inca.
I confess that when listening to Rosa "quechuera" De la Cruz, strengthens my initiative to create a regional council of the Regional Culture, which is comprised of intellectuals and scholars of our regional identity to develop research projects on languages of the
Eight hours have been more than enough to live with all people and all the faces. Faces tired odor of the earth. Faces loaded with rays and wrinkles by time. Hands strong that they hold to feel alive. Looks sweet and deep that you show the simplicity of their souls. Thanks for having allowed to be with them.

MY PRIDE OF BEING BY AMAZONAS
This phrase has been issuing posters and on how much activity it occurs, is so wise and appropriate for those of us amazonenses, not only in heart, birth; but belief. Since being amazonenses, it is not be a place anyone. It is to be benign land that feeds each of their children. It's being part of the glorious history, epic of each of our districts and provinces. It's good to be patriotic, because despite the fact that we painted green, white and red carry the limits to extraordinary lengths to defend national sovereignty. Being Amazonas, to be big, generous exemplary, proud, courageous and everything else.
In my 43 years, I have been lucky and I still have, to travel regularly to the interior of Amazonas and profundizarme in its reality, challenges and take advantage of the blog to discuss and disseminate to the world. Knowing Amazon is a privilege of a few. Surcar rivers, climb mountains or down to valleys, are unforgettable experiences, that when you want to land, one never tires of the world sing.
Because Amazon is not just a piece of land on a map of Peru. That's all, and one at the same time. Amazon takes its biodiversity over eighty microclimates that make prodigious and productive. In his 41 thousand square kilometers, we have geographical spaces from 400 to 3500 meters above sea level, and in every place and space, the earth opens its entrails to deliver its fruits, so pure and delicious as Pitahaya , Chirimoya, pineapple, mangoes, oranges and limes, etc.
Amazon are valleys, deep canyons, landscapes incomparable. It is a land of colors: orange honey amanece summer, the white clouds dissipated to open the giant screen intense blue of the sky and see the sun shine. In winter, winds are blowing and collide with our bodies, in a silent pact of friendship. In spring trees and flowers change their skin look beautiful, the birds sing, the swallows nest on our roofs, in the fall, life is like.
Amazon region of Peru, is a colage, where painters have expressed their best creations, all of them directed by God. Rather, let's look at this huge painting of Canyon Huanca Urco or Utcubamba valley, talvéz the Guayabamba or perhaps Huaylla Bethlehem. They are works of art, we allow ordinary mortals embriagarnos with its beauty.
Not that he saw God in the Amazon, which gave him his destiny to that with the effort of their children is great. That left him to admire the humanity to its majestic Kuelap, to have beautiful orchids, to fly on our soil the Colibri Queue spatula or for the venao ash follow brincando by our hills, to cause cataracts with amazement as Gojta or caves as Shaquil and Kiocta, so that our rivers are 140 species of fish Amazonian forests to ensure that we have incredible as the palm trees in Ocol, Colan in Bagua and Utcubamba or Santiago Comaina in Condorcanqui.
Ultimately, I think Amazon is edén earth. That the Bible says that was given to men to the pueblen and live eternally happy. At Amazon, there is a peace that seeks the paradise he wants to achieve and the passion with which one does things to see its people prosper.
I am deeply AMAZONENSE. Not that more could be taxed to express my personal tribute to this earth, that the November 21 celebrates 175 years. Maybe raise a glass, look in the mirror and provide me with another, so that Amazon has always hope and dreams to achieve
CHACHAPOYAS: BETWEEN GUARANGO, SHEPHERDS AND SELVAJE
I do not have the faintest idea, nor when, but if you like, began to assemble in the homes of my land, births Christmas. Such births spiritual remember where the 2007 years of that child manuelito that never grows, but it becomes increasingly powerful in the faith of its followers universal.
In December, Chachapoyas complements the beauty of their city with the smells of various wild plants that "blessed coincidence" abound and appear in this month throughout the jurisdiction of the province. The selvaje grows and matures in the trees dry walnut, Lope or capulí, huicundos everywhere and on the verge of road feel, it smells the fragrance of guarango, amarillito amarilleando hoped the stroke of a machete to bring it home . And to go home, the smell disrupting the walls and furs stays in the mind and that mind recalls the advent of the savior of the world. The arrival of Christmas.
THE BIRTHS
I believe that in December, changed the faces of all. This phenomenon happens in Chachapoyas. December is the month where the family is mobilized more united, more excited, more excited, because this is the month where we leave the rigors of the year, so that parents and children together, desempolvemos our arrangements: The tree, the star, the holy family, the shepherds, animals. It collects rocks, gravel or sand. The lights and carols. It is the month where carrying a bag and hand the machete, we are going to the bush to carry the huicundo and guarango, even we click together with their spines, we bring the same, because without it there is no frame for the birth. And it is true, that would not be a birth without guarango.
My land since time immemorial rite practiced this Christmas. In known families are built colossal births exceeding all imagination. Since November bonuses are realized. A sort of preparation and waiting for the day of the "delivery" most celebrated and celebrated in the world. On the streets gangs entonan carol. Those that Don Angel Alvarado, perennizó in Long play, tapes and CDs now. Girls and boys, they become old, josés and marías, baltazares, melchores and gaspares, pastors. In an entire group of people to shape the shepherds of Christmas. "We pastors, we" that chorus accompanied by the sonajas cheer our nights and brings the Christian spirit of my land. That land, which despite being "old" is renewed with the advent of Christmas.
The December 24 dinner is chicken, turkey or what they might have for that night. The panetón, biscocho and chocolate, unites the family and all the twelve with pleasure and frank approach to parenting my namesake, the boy manuelito, to place it in its crib, to lift it again on January 6 at the ceremony in the fall of kings . The lights color, the tone Christmas and hug family is pictured in December Chachapoyas. That December that we would like and that it is always so that we reencontremos with ourselves and we realize that we are human, that we are brothers and that we are not eternal

AMAZONAS AND SAN MARTIN: Do REGION WITH FUTURE?

After the thwarted referendum of 2005, where all Peruvians told NO to the formation of regions, two years have passed and the proximity to the new consultation process in 2009, new proposals for the establishment of pilot regions. This time it comes from the heart of our Amazon as San Martin, who intelligently spears the proposal to his pair of Amazonas for the two departments, forming a pilot area, which would be formalized this twelfth day of December in the government.
When departmental mergers discussed in the previous government was analyzed and self question the position of the regional government in this issue: Many want to strengthen the union with Lambayeque and Cajamarca, other (where I am) bet for joining with St. Maarten. By myopia, ergo, greed of our political dinosaurs regional politicians, both proposals were left in the process, even worse, after the popular consultation. With a group of people of my generation and members of the Committee of the decentralization process in the Amazon Regional government, we discussed the possibility of joining with St. Maarten, and sustentábamos on several fronts: Geopolitical, economic and historical, in addition to strengthening our position geospatial as hinge between the jungle and the Peruvian coast.
SOURCES AND HISTORICAL ALLIANCES FOR THE FUTURE
It is no secret that the Amazon carries its genes in the blood of the sons of expansionist Chachapoyas, between the years of the rubber boom, traveled 20 and up 40 days to reach Rioja, Soritor, Moyobomba, Yurimaguas and Iquitos. Many surnames originate in our department, including noblemen are recognizing that their usages, customs and historical legacy as the Great Pajatén and Pinchudos are the sample domain Chachapoya.
Geographically, we are similar. Of our eight watersheds, two of them bathe savanna sanmartinense and feed the Mayo River. Between the two departments exceed the 40% of the reservation fishing and the Peruvian Amazon nearly 33% of the reservation of our forests While it is true, our Human Development Index (HDI) are simulares, our poverty maps make us see how unprotected and lacking in imagination or political support in the future, these are our strengths to believe that the path of unity among these departments is and becomes viable.
Among other reasons, which is afraid to macroregión, is the loss of autonomy and political power of the rulers. It is true, but it would be dangerous to Cajamarca and Lambayeque, those with resources and power, would lead to use our territory as conejillo of Indian for their experiments and by his post to the exploitation of our resources, both natural and historical-archaeological.
The need, poverty, malnutrition, the bond of blood between Amazon and St. Maarten, would enable the revolution of poverty and elevate unsuspected places between the two departments if they aspire to unification. Very well could split the administrative and political hegemony between the two departmental capitals.
We have a halo that unites us: our global resources and reserves as are our forests. We have common horizons and the same desire to grow and change the human face of our people. While it is true, in light of 2007, all seems to indicate that this is not possible in the future will understand this point of view, because we should not lose our vision Amazon, and as stated above, OUR GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION, the best letter of introduction to the rich
